ZONIX / FIELD NOTE

18K carbon is more than a number

How carbon weave, resin and layup influence response, stability and feel in a performance padel racket.

18K carbon is more than a number

Carbon labels are useful only when they connect to the way a racket behaves. The number describes the density of filaments in the weave, but the final response also depends on resin, core, surface treatment and the complete layup.

What a denser weave can change

An 18K carbon face can support a firm, stable impact and a more direct sensation at higher swing speeds. That does not automatically make every 18K racket better. Geometry and core hardness still determine whether the finished system feels controlled, demanding or explosive.

At Zonix, material specification is the beginning of the engineering process, not the end of the product story.

Choose the complete system

Players should evaluate three things together:

  1. The response of the face at normal and high swing speed.
  2. The balance and maneuverability during fast exchanges.
  3. The size and behavior of the effective sweet spot.

A premium racket earns its position through consistency and integration, not a single number printed on the surface.
